Moving Company Reviews: Mac’s Moving, Louisville, KY

Caboose home in Lyons, CO

Since you last moved, there are some new options to consider when choosing a vendor to transport your possessions to your new home. One of them is a family owned company named Mac’s Moving of Louisville, Kentucky. Mac’s is owned by Debbie and Chase Taylor.

Mac’s Moving capabilities: Mac’s Moving is exclusively focused on local, in-state moves. They offer moving, packing and some storage services. Mac’s has three, 24’ trucks with additional storage above the cab. They also offer packing/unpacking services. They have 4000 square feet of warehouse space, some of which is temperature controlled. Debbie Taylor told me their aim is to provide superior service and that they don’t charge for the time they spend helping the customer plan and organize the move. They also attempt to be as flexible as possible, to ensure the customer is pleased with the outcome. Their high level of service manifested itself in 2010, when they were voted the “Best Movers” by both WHAS11 and Cityvoter. They are members of the Better Business Bureau and have more than thirty years combined experience. Mac’s is currently not licensed to make interstate moves.

The Mac’s Moving system: You may obtain a free estimate over the telephone or they will gladly send an estimator to your home.

Insurance options: A minimal amount of insurance is provided without charge. More substantial, optional coverage is also available. (Please note that the standard free coverage is $.60 per pound per item.)

So what does it cost? Mac’s hourly rates are $70 and $95 for two or three men, respectively. Their packing rates are $30 and $50 per hour for one or two women respectively. (Their packers are predominantly female.) Please note that the labor rates shown on their website are out of date.

Client Feedback & Testimonials: Quite a few recent testimonials were found on the following yellow pages site. As of August 2016, they’ve received twenty-four reviews with a rating of 4.5 stars out of 5!!

Please add your comments regarding any direct experience you have had with this company. Their website included a few testimonials, but they weren’t dated. Thanks!
